Maine coons | Introduction

The Maine coon is a very large breed weighing in at 12-18lbs in some cases as much as 28lbs, a semi longhaired cat with big eyes, broad muzzle and distinctive tips on their ears liking them to a lynx cat.
Originating from the American state of Maine they were originally known as Maine cat, Coon cat or Shag this was changed to Maine coon in the twentieth century. In1985 the then governor of Maine accorded the breed final seal of approval declaring it the official cat of the state, apparently a rare honour.

We are based in Wrexham where we enjoy the company of our Maine coons, these are our family pets and live in our house with us, although we do have a fully heated cathouse with open-air pen, where we can allow some of our cats enjoy the fresh air when we are at work.

We also now have a wonderful up and coming stud boy Yogi but at present our girls are taken out to the best quality stud cats based on both their type and foremost their outstanding temperaments.
